SAHANA Matcha for Matcha Lattes

“My story begins in my childhood home in Japan, inspired by my mother, a master of the Urasenke tea school. Now as a mum in London, I care deeply about the heritage and quality of what we share with the people we love.
Through SAHANA London, I blend the harmony of the Japanese tea ceremony with the art of Ikebana to help you find a little beauty in your own daily rhythm. To keep your ritual pure, I personally oversee every step. Our matcha is sourced directly from Shizuoka, Japan, and strictly follows EU pesticide regulations. Because I refuse to use additives, the vivid color and natural bitterness may vary batch to batch, a true, honest reflection of nature.
Whether you enjoy it as a creamy latte or a slightly bitter traditional tea, it's a piece of my journey from Japan to London. It is such an honor to share it with you in your home.”

Born to a talented Japanese mother skilled in Ikebana and the Tea ceremony, Rei’s interest in Japanese arts sparked from a young age.

After spending years in investment banking, she sought inner peace and joined the Sogetsu Ikebana school, earning her teacher’s degree in two years while working full-time.

In December 2018, she and her husband moved to London, prompting her to focus on their new life and child. Now that her daughter is in primary school, she is excited to pursue her dream of starting a flower-arranging business.
